Food and Drink Photography is visual storytelling while waking up the senses of taste and smell. While someone can`t physically smell or taste your food yet because she or he may still be in the office or at home, they can still sense the taste and smell of it when looking at its photograph. A food or drink photograph can set off the sensory imagination and create a craving for the real smell, the real taste of a food or drink.
Creating and evoking an emotion is extremely important in food and drink photography. Slow dining and taking in all the flavours, the first bite of a rich, warm gourmet dish after a long day, bonding with someone over a cup of creamy coffee while savoring the juiciness and texture of a shared cake, enjoying the fresh sparkles in a cold drink on a hot afternoon in the sunshine – these are moments when food and drinks are unfolding their true potential. And these are all moments full of emotion. Emotion is what will stay in our minds and hearts. If a strong emotion aligns with the taste of your food you will be unforgettable.
